JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for day-to-day HR functions, serving as a resource to both employees and management. These functions include:  employee relations, recruiting and selection, HR Compliance, on-boarding, recordkeeping, training and development, compensation and performance management.  In addition, you’ll work on human resources projects in support of ongoing business culture changes. 
 
Your main responsibilities are:

  • Manage and participate in all aspects of recruitment (sourcing, interviewing, career fairs, job fairs, tech talks, community outreach, diversity initiatives, etc.), onboarding and personnel management (payroll, benefits & wellness program, etc.). 
  • Function as a problem solver/consultant for employees through gathering facts, analyzing data, and making recommendations for a solution or a referral. Provide HR solutions support, process knowledge advice and consultation. 
  • Administer and apply policies and procedures, identify patterns in employee concerns and make improvement recommendations. Design action plans following root cause analysis of site issues and provide advice on resolution.
  • Develop internal (employees, management, HR peers) and external relationships (community, diversity organizations, professional contacts, industry) to improve existing HR practices (pipeline for hiring, share best practices, etc.). Network, benchmark and utilize shared HR best practices.
  • Implement creative/innovative initiatives to improve HR practices relative to employee engagement, business controls and data collection/analysis.

  • You understand the importance of and have the ability to build lasting internal (employees, management, team) and external relationships (community, professional contacts, industry).
  • You are able to learn and incorporate internal policies and procedures and to address transactional issues within established policies and guidelines. You can connect the dots, identify patterns in employee concerns and recommend improvements.
  • You have demonstrated effective, knowledgeable written and oral communication skills in dealing promptly and accurately with business partners, keeping the audience’s perspective in mind when crafting communications.
  • You can provide guidance to employees, demonstrating a solid foundation in critical human resource areas and have the ability to apply these principles to HR solutions and resolution.
  • You know how to become familiar with business lines, terms and acronyms, products/services and sector results.
  • You have basic operational/process knowledge of critical HR systems (recruiting, onboarding, workers’ compensation, payroll, etc.) and the ability to identify inefficiencies and provide process improvement/technology recommendations that can assist in solving business challenges.
  • You are detail-oriented and have an organized approach for consistent and complete documentation retention.
  • You are proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a fast paced HR-related field is a plus.
