JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Adfors group leader, the candidate will design, run experiments, produce lab scale samples, operate pilot equipment, and analyze the experimental outcomes. In addition to designing experiments for the candidate’s primary projects, the candidate will be expected to conduct experiments to support projects led by others. 

  • Utilizes basic scientific or engineering principles and techniques to undertake specific tasks and projects with limited scope. 
  • Manages and documents projects effectively. 
  • Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.   
  • Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision making. 
  • Incumbent will be required to submit technical reports on project progress and results. 
  • Understands Gate Process methodology/ideology and utilizes and incorporates it in research projects. 

 
REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Must possess a body of technical work including but not limited to: demonstration of familiarity with statistical tools, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on a collection of basic data and interpretation.  
  • Project leadership including project management, team collaboration, and oral and written communication skills are required. 
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge in HSE. 
  • Incumbent demonstrates ability to work with colleagues at various levels.  
  • Develop understanding of company policies and corporate structure. 
  • Respectful communication and ability to collaborate in a team environment required. 
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical engineer, Material Science, or other related disciplines is required. 
  • Co-op or intern experience is a plus.    
  • Mechanical testing experience in production and manufacturing is preferred. 
  • Experience with instruments and procedures to test mechanical properties of materials is preferred.
  • Polymer coating formulation including plastisols is preferred.
  • Knowledge of textile technologies is preferred. 
  • Valid driver's license is required to access remote plant locations.
